Topic: "WETA/TV26 Fund Drive"
About the Event
See what it's like behind-the-scenes at a TV studio! Our annual community service meeting will be held this year at the television studios for WETA/TV26. A group of approximately 35 people will appear live on-air answering incoming pledge calls from supporters of WETA/TV26 and record donations for the fund drive. It's a fun way to get together, gain a bit of publicity, and help out a good cause. The first 30 volunteers to register for this meeting will participate on the March 11 fund drive. If we get more than 30 volunteers, me may be able to arrange a second evening. Your spouse, adult children (minimum age is 16), and friends are invited to join us.
Wear bright, light-colored clothing, but not white (solid white—including t-shirts with white lettering—white jackets, and solid white sweaters creates glare.) During the periodic breaks in programming, we will be busy taking pledge calls live, on-air. However, while the programming is running, there will be stretches of time when you'll be off-camera and the phones will not be ringing. You may bring a book or magazine to read or use this time for networking. A brief chapter meeting will be held during one of these times along with the drawing for the Annual Conference registration fee.
Our STC chapter will be recognized on-air during the drive and in Signals, WETA's volunteer newsletter. Note: The minimum age for volunteers is 16.
Don't forget your business cards! We collect a business card from each attendee for a chance to win the registration fee for the Annual Conference. The drawing takes place at the March meeting. The more meetings you attend, the more chances to win.
