The Competitions Manager (a former Chapter and International judge) will host this session. You will learn:
- How to pick your best work
- How to pick the right competition category
- What criteria the judges use to evaluate your entry
- How to communicate "special circumstances" for your entry
- How to handle particular entries: context-sensitive Help, PDFs, multivolume documentation sets, etc.
- How to duplicate and package your entry

About the Instructor
Melissa Brown is a technical writer at QuadraMed Corporation in Reston, where she writes user guides and online Help for healthcare applications. She has over 10 years of experience in the technical writing field. Melissa is a senior member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) and past manager of the STC WDC Online Special Interest Group (SIG).
She also actively participates in local and international STC technical writing competitions and has won awards of Merit and Excellence for her own work. She is currently serving as First Vice President and Competitions Manager.
