Topic: "Volunteer Recognition and Meet the Fellows Luncheon"

About the Event

During the chapter year our volunteers work hard to increase the value of Society membership by providing networking and professional development opportunities, organizing student and professional competitions, communicating information pertinent to members' careers through the Web, email, and in print, raising money for scholarships, and many other activities. This luncheon is our annual opportunity to thank our volunteers and welcome our new leadership for next chapter year. We also get a chance at this event to meet the STC Fellows and Associate Fellows from the Washington, DC Chapter.

This year year we have three new Associate Fellows to congratulate! Cynthia A. Lockley, Doreen Mannion, and Mary R. Wise.

The rank of Fellow is the highest honor the Society offers and is bestowed on only 1 percent of the total STC members that have made the most positive impact on our profession. Associate Fellows are nominated by individual chapters and represent the upper 2 percent of total STC members. Fellows are chosen from the pool of Associate Fellows by the Society's Fellows Nomination Committee. There are currently 25,000 members in STC.

While we are recognizing our volunteers and networking with the Fellows we will also be enjoying a delicious French country meal. We only have room for 30 people, so register early!

Don't forget your business cards for networking and books for the book drive!
