Tales From Frustrated Job Seekers

Do any of these tales of woe sound familiar?

  • None of the jobs on the Internet or in the paper match my background.
  • Hiring managers keep telling me that I am over-qualified.
  • I send my resume to companies and never hear anything.
  • The interview process does not seem to go anywhere.
  • Will I have to wait until the economy improves before I can get a job?

If so, join us on December 7th at the EggSpectation restaurant in downtown Silver Spring. Lisa Wiley-Parker will be sharing some of her secrets for navigating this challenging job market.

The presentation will focus on the following:

  • Discovering positions not currently in newspapers or on the Internet.
  • Identifying your transferable skills so you don't look over or under qualified.
  • Managing the job application process so you are more likely to hear back from employers.
  • Standing out in interviews to increase your chance for a second interview or a job offer.
