By Car:
From your starting point: Driving Directions and Map (Map courtesy of Mapquest Maps)
the Beltway (I-495):
- Take Exit 31, Georgia Avenue South (MD Rte 97). Take Georgia Avenue about 1.25 miles to downtown Silver Spring.
- Wayne Avenue is first light after the major intersection of Colesville Road (US Rte 29). Make a right on Wayne and the first left on Dixon.
From DC:
- Take I-66 to Roosevelt Bridge.
- Loop around under I-66 at first exit on DC side of Potomac.
- Get on Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway (it runs between the river and Kennedy Center/Watergate). You could also take the GW Parkway to the Memorial Bridge and get on Rock Creek Parkway there (though there is a very confusing intersection at the Lincoln Memorial—take a hard right off of the bridge, loop around under the bridge, and then keep left at intersections).
- Take Rock Creek Parkway all the way up past the zoo, etc. staying to the right on Beach Road when the road goes under Massachusetts and Connecticut Avenues (Taft Bridge and Ellington Bridge). Beach Road goes through the tunnel right before the zoo.
- About 1 mile past the zoo, Beach Road goes under Military Road. Take Military Road east to 16th Street. Go up the exit ramp to 16th, make a left turn, and go up 16th about 1 mile.
- When 16th hits the circle (DC/Maryland line), bear to the right onto Colesville Road (not the hard right on Portal).
- The first light after you go under the Metro bridge is Wayne Avenue (next to the Metro station).
- Make a right on Wayne and then the second right on Dixon.
Parking
Park in public garage on right. Entrance to 1010 Wayne is across from the garage on Dixon.
